Last week, the children from Fir and Elm classes took a trip to the Slough Sewage treatment works. They spent a full day at the educational centre on site, learning about everything from what happens when we flush the loo, all the way to when the water re-enters the river. The children also got to tour the working site and see the stages the waste goes through, find out why it wasn’t as smelly as they might have expected, and even see where they convert waste into “poo power” to run the site!
