As part of our Careers Programme for Elder and Hazel pupils, Jason Cotta Managing Director of Costa UK and Ireland was invited to come and present to the children about the organisation, the varied career paths it offers and his own personal journey. 
Jason, by his own admission did not always find school an easy environment. However, he explained to the pupils that the opportunities offered by the organisations he has worked for, hard work and a can do attitude on his behalf have led to a really successful and rewarding career.
It was refreshing to hear about an organisation in which investment in young people is very much at the forefront of what they do and it is clear that may of our group were interested and motivated to find out more, particularly when they found out that unlike many organisations there is not a lower rate of pay for under 18s!
We are now in talks with Costa with a view to setting up our own little coffee shop and training some of our older pupils to be Baristas. Watch this space!!
