We’ve hit the headlines in our local paper – appearing on both the front page and page 5 of the Maidenhead Advertiser who today ran an article on our Planning Inquiry to build new premises to cater for up to 96 pupils in Stubbings, Maidenhead. Fantastic, impassioned letters from 2 of our parents also appeared in Viewpoint – the letters section.
We are truly baffled that objectors who have never visited the school can’t find it in their hearts to allow us to increase our provision to educate more vulnerable young people whose needs simply cannot be catered for in a mainstream setting. Perhaps they need a hug! We are also amazed that a staggering £20k of public funds have been deployed by Bisham Parish Council to fight the appeal.
Our Local Authority – Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are behind us. Having acknowledged we have Very Special Circumstances to build on green belt they granted us planning permission in October 2014 to build on the site as they realise the need for a larger school such as ours.
The planning inquiry takes place over three days and commences on 12th January 2016 at the Town Hall in Maidenhead. All supporters are very very welcome! There is also still time to write in to the Planning Inspectorate with your support to Leanne.palmer@pins.gsi.gov.uk quoting: 14/1581 Beech Lodge School – Planning Inspectorates Ref: APP/TO355/V/15/3011305
Whatever the outcome – we will carry on and not be beaten!
